Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre Recognized for Outstanding Fundraising Campaign!

Amethyst Women’s Addiction Centre is thrilled to announce that it was named a finalist in PR News’ prestigious Nonprofit PR Awards.  Amethyst’s annual Track Challenge was recognized in the category of Fundraising Campaign.  The award accepts entries from around the world, and is considered one of the highest honours bestowed on non-profit organizations.

PR News is a Manhattan based publication and is the most trusted, executive level, reader-supported publication that helps enhance the business impact of PR.  Previous winners of the PR News’ Nonprofit PR Awards include such notable organizations as the American Heart Association, World Wildlife Fund and United Way of America.

The awards presentation was held on November 3rd, 2010 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. where Amethyst was formally recognized with a crystal trophy symbolizing the accomplishment.

With over one million public charities in the United States alone, Amethyst’s inclusion as a top three finalist will not only raise the profile of the organization, but bring much needed attention to addiction issues and women’s services.  Amethyst held a local event in recognition of National Addictions Awareness Week (November 15th-21st) to celebrate the award recognition while also raising awareness about addiction and the need for local support services.  Amethyst supporter and Majic 100 FM personality Codi Jeffreys was on hand to emcee the event, which was attended by the local media and Track Challenge supporters.
